Wolf Moon Ride D20 (JimK)
Jan 17, 2022 will be the moment of the Full Moon this month. The January full moon is often called the Wolf Moon, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. This term comes from Native American tribes when wolves would howl outside villages. The full moon is when the Sun and the Moon are on opposite sides of the Earth. This causes the Moon's illuminated side to face the night side of Earth so a full Moon can only be seen during the night. The exact time of the Wolf Moon is 3:48 PM. (Thus during the time of our ride) So, to see the Wolf Moon, look at your feet because it’s on the other side of our planet. That is okay since are always looking for reasons to ride. This ride is a short little afternoon jaunt that can be done in less that 2 hours. The exact time will depend on how much time you spend eating those wonderful donuts at Bel Air, the rest stop in Folsom. Note that since this is Martin Luther King Jr. Day we will have to deal with the students leaving school at the end of the classes.
The route is identified as "Kirstein - Wolf Moon - D20" and is in the club library. It is only 20 miles long and is a simple out and back. The RWGPS file is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38324930
We will have a howling good time!
