Ken,
What a poetic cancellation note—practically a love letter to common sense and self-preservation. I’m with you: no need to trade last night’s warm holiday glow for the cold embrace of soggy socks and dodgy dogs on slippery trails.
Looking forward to the next (dry) attempt at spreading festive cheer! Until then, I’ll be inside, toasting to your excellent judgment.
Cheers,
Sarah

CANCELLED
Rained 0.6 inches in the past few hours
Winds gusting to 25MPH
Lots of leaves and tree junk on the trails - slippery and crash-y!
Maybe standing water and under bridge flooding
Will stop raining just as ride starts, so will be dodging every walker with a bored dog who hits the trail during the small window before it starts raining again
Still basking in the warm blow of last night's fantastic holiday party --- don't want to harsh that buzz with cold and muddy ride.

Looks like it is going to rain pretty hard overnight, then may break up just in time for a ride, followed by more rain. If you are thinking about joining tomorrow, I'll send a confirmation one-way-or-the-other by 8AM tomorrow morning so you have time before our scheduled 10AM start time.
