All routes start together. At 6.2 miles the Fun D16 route bypasses the Empire Ranch loop then cuts down at the Johnny Cash Trail. The D25s ride the ER loop, cross the dam, and U-turn at Beals Pt. One D25 uses an ARBT return and the other uses Folsom Blvd. Both D25s can be extended to D30 by looping to the fish hatchery. On HOT! days you are encouraged to ride the loop before 9 AM or drop doing it. To do Park Dr or not to do Park Dr? That is the question. We'll circle out toward Rocklin and you can make up your mind along the way. After doing this ride in January 2020, the idea was to see if we'd improved but that March 2020 event was the first ride that was cancelled due to Covid. 33 miles/1569 gain at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36461680 39 miles/2246 gain at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36461898 and both in the club library under my name.

Our traditional pre-picnic ride will be led by Ray Billings. The ride start, and sign-in and out, is from William Pond at 9:00am. Parking is $5.00 at the lot but feel free to park at Five Points and ride in. Ray is offering routes from 10-38 miles so there is an option for everyone. Display your club pride by wearing a Bike Hiker jersey if you have one.

The jersey swap begins at 10:30am and is a great opportunity to acquire some cool cycling wear and let go of what you no longer need. Carole Magnusson and Ruth Anderson will be collecting jerseys and jackets only. You can either do a free jersey-for-jersey swap, or pay $5 for a jersey. Contact Ruth at ruthmft@comcast.net.

The picnic begins at 11:00am. The menu includes vegetarian and gluten free options this year along with the usual delicious picnic fare. Accommodations have been made to insure Covid safety, but masks are not required at this outdoor event. Seating is limited so consider bringing chairs or blankets. We have enough volunteers (thank you!) but if you have something to share contact Phyllis Billings at 916-338-7112 or 916-662-1213. AND, make sure to bring your significant other even if they are not a member.

We have waited a long time to gather, joke and laugh, and share a meal with the entire club. It won’t be the same without you - please join us!

Join us for a casual ride down the American River bike trail to William Pond where we will stop for water, a bathroom break and socializing. We will then head back to Gold RIver, completing this 20-mile loop at your own speed.

After the ride you are invited to a barbecue at Suzanne's home which is 1.5 miles from the ride start. Bring a drink and a swimsuit if you like as the pool will be open. Address and directions will be handed out at the ride start.
